Moorland Rovers (MLR), is based on the Southern Slopes of Dartmoor, UK. We specialises in two areas, the MLR Workshop, a defender garage offering servicing, bodywork, resprays, repairs and upgrades for local South Devon Defenders.
The other area is the restoring and bespoke building of Land Rover Defenders for sale to UK customers and exporting to the US market.

CEO and Founder
We are excited to introduce Bradley, the visionary founder and owner of Moorland Rovers Ltd.! From the very beginning, Bradley has been the driving force behind MLR’s growth and success. He has played a pivotal role in every aspect of the business, from hands-on work like fitting carpet sets to overseeing the design and creation of our most luxurious and bespoke Defender builds, particularly for our US clients.
Bradley’s journey with MLR started with a passion for restoring even the most neglected Defenders, and he continues to oversee each project with an unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship. In addition to his hands-on work with Defenders, Bradley has successfully built and managed a growing business, steering MLR with a clear vision and determination.

Sarah Blampied
COO
Sarah is the backbone of MLR’s operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly from admin to automotive. Whether she’s sourcing new desk chairs or coordinating stunning Defender interiors, Sarah’s meticulous attention to detail has been pivotal in organizing our new premises to match the premium standards of the Defenders we repair and restore.
With a cup of tea always nearby and often a cuddly canine companion on her lap, Sarah brings warmth and structure to the team. Her contributions don’t stop there – Sarah is also the creator of sweet treats for Andy’s Cake Fridays, a beloved MLR tradition. Got a recipe to recommend? Sarah would love to hear it!

Andy Painter
Lead Mechanic
At MLR, we’re proud to have Andy leading our team as our Lead Mechanic and Defender Specialist. With over 30 years of experience working on modern cars, Andy’s true passion lies in Land Rover Defenders. His skills are honed from countless weekend adventures with his own Defender, tackling mud, hills, and all kinds of rugged terrain. Whether it’s a repair or a restoration, Andy’s expertise ensures that your Defender is in the best hands.
Andy is also the heart of the MLR workshop when it comes to keeping things sweet! Known for his love of desserts, Andy started Cake Fridays as a weekly treat for the whole team. Who knew mechanics could be so sweet? 🍰

Kieran Painter
Mechanic
Say hello to Kieran, the newest addition to our mechanical team – and already a legend in the making. With Defender roots running deep in his family, Kieran lives and breathes these iconic machines. His own build, affectionately known as “Lego” (thanks to its ever-growing collection of parts), is as capable as it is loved.
When he’s not tackling trails or snowy rescues, Kieran is our go-to transport wizard.
Stuck on a hill? He’ll winch you out.
Need something moved? He’ll tow it, no fuss.
Reversing a trailer through a tight gap? Kieran’s doing it—with his eyes closed.
Equal parts master driver and master mechanic, Kieran brings skill, calm confidence, and a whole lot of Defender know-how to every job. We’re chuffed to have him on board.

Meet Jason, our new master of paint and the man behind the fresh new faces of our vintage Defenders. New to Defenders, but no stranger to flawless finishes, Jason now leads our paint services — and let’s just say, he’s raising the bar.
From tired trucks to rusted panels, Jason brings each vehicle back to life with precision, passion, and a serious eye for detail. Nothing is too small, too rusty, or too far gone — if Jason’s painting it, it’s going to look better than new.

We are extremely proud to call Dartmoor home, it is wonderful place to live and work and makes a rather good back yard play ground for a Land Rover enthusiast.
Dartmoor is full of wonderful communities and hamlets set amongst rolling hills and rugged moorland. This remote and often hostile landscape breeds a real sense of community and trust amongst its inhabitants and this has truly helped define us as people and as a business.
